UPDATE (1/13/21)

As many of you know, our elders met again last night to discuss our Sunday morning in-person worship services, which have been suspended since Thanksgiving. Our meetings have gotten longer, the discussions have gotten more difficult, but the decision, at this time, is still the same: We are continuing to suspend in-person worship on Sunday mornings until at least February 21.

I have written it before, but I want to reiterate it today, especially as I know that frustrations, for some, are growing: Be thankful that our elders love us as much as they do. They could have made the "easy" decision to resume worship and let the "chips fall as they may." But instead, they continue to make the "tough" decision that one person getting sick, or worse, at a Reidsville Christian gathering, is one too many. Their decisions continue to be motivated by responsibility for the flock rather than by fear.

At the same time, also know that our elders and I are not only confident that "this too shall pass," but that when it does, our best days as a church and influence in God's Kingdom are ahead of us.

In fact, we realize that our God is at work even now. It may not be in the ways that we are accustomed to seeing, but story after story reveals that His mighty hand is moving in Reidsville and beyond because of His ministry through you!

In my Bible reading last week, I was reminded of the following verse which I believe is so applicable for many of us right now, including me:

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 (NIV84)

That is my prayer for all of us.

May God continue to bless each one of us, and may He heal our land!
