Psalm 119:10–18 (ESV)10 With our whole heart we seek you; let us not wander from your commandments! 11 We have stored up your word in our hearts, that we might not sin against you. 12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach us your statutes! 13 With our lips we declare all the rules of your mouth. 14 In the way of your testimonies we delight as much as in all riches. 15 We will meditate on your precepts and fix our eyes on your ways. 16 We will delight in your statutes; we will not forget your word. 17 Deal bountifully with your servants, that we may live and keep your word. 18 Open our eyes, that we may behold wondrous things out of your law.

Scripture Reading: Psalm 66 (English Standard Version)

To the choirmaster. A Song. A Psalm. 1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth; 2 sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! 3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. 4 All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah 5 Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man. 6 He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him, 7 who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah 8 Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard, 9 who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip. 10 For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. 11 You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; 12 you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance. 13 I will come into your house with burnt offerings; I will perform my vows to you, 14 that which my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in trouble. 15 I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals, with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams; I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah 16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. 17 I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. 18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 19 But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 66 (New Jerusalem Bible)

For the choirmaster Song Psalm 1 Acclaim God, all the earth, 2 sing psalms to the glory of his name, glorify him with your praises, 3 say to God, ‘How awesome you are! ‘Your achievements are the measure of your power, your enemies woo your favour, 4 all the earth bows down before you, sings psalms to you, sings psalms to your name.’ Pause 5 Come and see the marvels of God, his awesome deeds for the children of Adam: 6 he changed the sea into dry land, they crossed the river on foot. So let us rejoice in him, 7 who rules for ever by his power; his eyes keep watch on the nations to forestall rebellion against him. Pause 8 Nations, bless our God, let the sound of his praise be heard; 9 he brings us to life and keeps our feet from stumbling. 10 God, you have put us to the test, refined us like silver, 11 let us fall into the net; you have put a heavy strain on our backs, 12 let men ride over our heads; but now the ordeal by fire and water is over, you have led us out to breathe again. 13 I bring burnt offerings to your house, I fulfil to you my vows, 14 the vows that rose to my lips, that I pronounced when I was in trouble. 15 I will offer you rich burnt offerings, with the smoke of burning rams. I will sacrifice to you bullocks and goats. Pause 16 Come and listen, all who fear God, while I tell what he has done for me. 17 To him I cried aloud, high praise was on my tongue. 18 Had I been aware of guilt in my heart, the Lord would not have listened, 19 but in fact God did listen, attentive to the sound of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer, nor his own faithful love from me.

Scripture Reading: Psalm 66 (New Living Translation)

For the choir director: A song. A psalm. 1 Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! 2 Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is. 3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power. 4 Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Interlude 5 Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! 6 He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. 7 For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude 8 Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. 9 Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. 10 You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. 11 You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs. 12 Then you put a leader over us. We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. 13 Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you— 14 yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble. 15 That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude 16 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. 17 For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. 18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 19 But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. 20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

Intercessory Prayer

Lord’s Prayer (Pray the words that Jesus taught us to pray)

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name;

your kingdom come;

your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For yours is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, forever. Amen.
