Call to Worship (Hear God call you to worship through His Word) - Psalm 118:24-29

24 This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. 25 Save us, we pray, O Lord!...
26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house of the Lord. 27 The Lord is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us... 28 You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you. 29 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

Psalm 119:10–18 (ESV)10 With our whole heart we seek you; let us not wander from your commandments! 11 We have stored up your word in our hearts, that we might not sin against you. 12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach us your statutes! 13 With our lips we declare all the rules of your mouth. 14 In the way of your testimonies we delight as much as in all riches. 15 We will meditate on your precepts and fix our eyes on your ways. 16 We will delight in your statutes; we will not forget your word. 17 Deal bountifully with your servants, that we may live and keep your word. 18 Open our eyes, that we may behold wondrous things out of your law.

Scripture Reading: Psalm 16 (English Standard Version)

A Miktam of David.1 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. 2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” 3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight. 4 The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names on my lips. 5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. 6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. 7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. 8 I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. 10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. 11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Reflect

Scripture Reading: Psalm 16 (New Jerusalem Bible)

In a quiet voice Of David 1 Protect me, O God, in you is my refuge. 2 To Yahweh I say, ‘You are my Lord, my happiness is in none 3 of the sacred spirits of the earth.’ They only take advantage of all who love them. 4 People flock to their teeming idols. Never shall I pour libations to them! Never take their names on my lips. 5 My birthright, my cup is Yahweh; you, you alone, hold my lot secure. 6 The measuring-line marks out for me a delightful place, my birthright is all I could wish. 7 I bless Yahweh who is my counsellor, even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep Yahweh before me always, for with him at my right hand, nothing can shake me. 9 So my heart rejoices, my soul delights, my body too will rest secure, 10 for you will not abandon me to Sheol, you cannot allow your faithful servant to see the abyss. 11 You will teach me the path of life, unbounded joy in your presence, at your right hand delight for ever.

Reflect

Scripture Reading: Psalm 16 (New Living Translation)

A psalm of David. 1 Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge. 2 I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” 3 The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them! 4 Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods. I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood or even speak the names of their gods. 5 Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. 6 The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance! 7 I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. 9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. 10 For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. 11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Prayer

"Oh, make your word a swift word, passing from the ear to the heart, from the heart to the life and conversation: that as the rain returns not empty, so neither my your word, but accomplish that for which it is given." George Herbert

Lord’s Prayer (Pray the words that Jesus taught us to pray)

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name;

your kingdom come;

your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For yours is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, forever. Amen.
